Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - The Toronto Maple Leafs assigned 2009 first- round pick Nazem Kadri to the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League on Wednesday. The 21-year-old suffered a knee injury in a September 27 exhibition contest and was placed on injured reserve four days later. Kadri played in 29 games with the Leafs last season, collecting three goals and 12 points. He made his NHL debut in February of 2010 but did not record a point in his lone action that year.
