Sharks showing their teeth

Hockey Betting Lines

11/12/2006 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The San Jose Sharks had to battle back from a slow start last season just to make the playoffs, but have begun this year on the right track.

The Sharks are 13-5-0 on the season and with 26 points are just two behind Anaheim for the Pacific Division lead.

San Jose has won four straight contests and is coming off Saturday's victory at Phoenix. Evgeni Nabokov and Vesa Toskala combined to stop 38 shots to lead the Sharks to a 2-1 triumph over the Coyotes.

Steve Bernier and Patrick Marleau each collected a goal and an assist to pace the Sharks' offensive attack. Scott Hannan and Milan Michalek also registered points on the night.

Sharks center Joe Thornton, who spearheaded San Jose's charge to the postseason last year, has just one point in his last three games.

The last two Sharks' victories have begun a four-game road trip and the team has won its last four tests as the visitor.

San Jose will continue their swing Monday evening in Los Angeles before finishing the trip Wednesday in Colorado.

Kurt Warner to start, Matt Leinart to watch

Despite the debate that's swirling , Kurt Warner will remain the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, coach Dennis Green said today. The Arizona Cardinals are the +7 point underdog at online sportsbook MySportsbook.com for this Sunday's game.

Green's comment came in a statement released by the team following an ESPN report that Green decided that rookie Matt Leinart would replace Warner as starter for Sunday's game at Atlanta.

"Generally talking about the starting lineup is not something we do," Green told the AP. "However, given the speculation that was out there we want to make it clear. We're disappointed after last week, but we still expect to be a playoff football team and we fully expect Kurt Warner to be the quarterback that leads us. That has not changed."
